19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his maiden championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after March of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional victory, took control to force a third set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
