I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
